To determine the amount of financial aid a student can receive, the school must first 确定出勤费用. The 出勤费用 is determined by the Financial Aid Office and is different from the amount you pay for direct 成本 to the university. Direct 成本 are those that you will be billed by the university 财务主管的办公室. For example, a commuter student is not charged for on-campus housing.

If the SAI is less than the 出勤费用, the student may be eligible for subsidized financial aid such as grants, scholarships, and subsidized student loans as well as 联邦直接父母PLUS贷款.

If the SAI is greater than the 出勤费用, the student may be eligible for unsubsidized financial aid such as unsubsidized student loans and the federal Direct 家长PLUS贷款.
